Adam and Eve Collab, the new collaborative store in Potchefstroom, opened on 2 March. This unique business doesn’t only sell trendy clothing, coffee and bagels but is also the latest student hang-out. Wapad attended their launch party to find out just what this new store is all about.
Adam and Eve Collab is a modern, yet cosy space where students can go to have a coffee, browse through some beautiful clothing, or just relax. With an extensive coffee and bagel menu, there is sure to be something for everyone. “Where else can you have a coffee, while simultaneously browsing through some clothes?” the co-founder, Danneel Stone, asked.
The collaboration first started in Stellenbosch in 2018, with the clothing brand Pretty Casual. From there onwards many other brands were added. “We’re all about meeting new people, making new friends and creating connections. We love collabs in every sense!” explained Stone.
The clothing department features a collaboration between eight brands: Pretty Casual, Old School, LaLuna, KoiKoi Clothing Company, Beach Face, Franselize Jewellery, Palm the Brand and K-Apparel.
According to Stone, opening a store in Potch was always a dream. “Potch is a people’s place, and our brand is focused on catering for that type of environment. We have never been just about the sales, it was always about creating lasting relationships,” said Stone.
When asked about the name of the shop, Stone explained that he started with nothing. This concept of a collaborative store is where everything began for him. “So, I named it Adam and Eve, because, essentially, that is where everything really started.”
Melissa Thomas, a second-year student in BCom Psychology with Labour Relations Management, says that she’ll regularly pay a visit to Adam and Eve Collab for a coffee and a yummy bagel with her friends. “I was really impressed by their unique initiative, and I can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.”
Students can look forward to many exciting events soon. From Saturday morning yoga sessions to a vintage night market, to mention a few events on Adam and Eve Collab’s agenda. For a one-of-a-kind experience visit Adam and Eve Collab on 19 Albert Luthuli Drive, located next to Music Café.
