Vanjaar het Bingle Sêr nie net harte gewen nie — dit het ons op ‘n wêreldtoer geneem sonder om ‘n voet uit Potchefstroom te sit. Bingle Sêr, die jaarlikse fees van sang, lag en verhoogpret onder die sleepkoshuise, het vanjaar nuwe hoogtes bereik onder die tema “Around the World“. Die slim verweefde Amerikaanse medleys het moeiteloos van een treffer na die volgende gevloei. Met goeie aksente en ‘n oorvloed van pop culture verwysings het hierdie vertoning die verlede met die hede verenig. Duitsland – Worswedloop, Bier en Buitensporige Pret

 

Duitsland se sleep het kreatiwiteit na nuwe hoogtes geneem! Met ‘I love Beer’ bottelpakke, worsie-kostuums en ‘n snaakse Duitse aksent het hulle die ongewone, maar geniale storie van ‘n worsresies vertel. Die unieke eie komposisie en buite-die-boks benadering tot hulle tema, het hierdie optrede besonder spesiaal gemaak.

 

 

Brazilië – ‘n Nostalgiese Tropiese Reis

 

Brazilië het ons harte gesteel met ‘n vrolike, kleurvolle opvoering geïnspireer deur die animasiefilm Rio. Bekende liedjies soos Hot Wings (I Wanna Party) het die gehoor saggies laat saamsing, terwyl die duidelike sang en unike storielyn die gehoor in nuwe maniere vermaak het. BINGLE SÊR 2025: A WORLD TOUR FULL OF MUSIC AND MAGIC

 

This year, Bingle Sêr didn’t just win hearts — it took us on a world tour without setting foot out of Potchefstroom. Bingle Sêr, the annual event of singing, laughter and fun among the sleep residences, has reached new heights this year under the theme “Around the World”. With each country pulled out of a hat, creativity blossomed and cultural colours flooded the stage.

 

Here’s how some slepe made the stage their own, keeping the audience’s attention glued to them:

 

China – An Absolute Masterclass in Display

 

China captured the audience’s attention from the first step on stage. The stage immediately turned into a dojo, where a sensei, a mother and a karate student, surrounded by uniformly dressed characters, told a story with witty humor and excellent acting that had the audience laughing time and time again. The singing was superb – harmonious voices roared through the hall, and the carefully chosen medleys were a delight to the ears. With minimalistic, yet theme-specific moves, this group showed that less is sometimes more – and for a short time, they definitely owned the stage!

 

 

United States of America – Patriotism with a Wink

 

With colonial costumes, a sparkling Miss USA, and a stereotypical bright orange depiction of the current U.S. president, the U.S. sleep captured every element of their theme. The cleverly intertwined American medleys flowed effortlessly from one hit to the next. With great accents and an abundance of pop culture references, this show united the past with the present. The show, rounded off with energy and humor, made this sleep‘s performance memorable – and on top of that, made the audience laugh continuously.

 

 

Germany – Sausage Race, Beer and Lots of Fun

 

Germany’s sleep has taken creativity to new heights! With ‘I love Beer’ bottle packs, sausage costumes and funny German accents, they told the unusual but genius story of a Sausage Race. Even when two power outages interrupted the show, these slepe remained in their places, and when the lights turned back on, professionally continued to sing and dance – a true testament to their dedication and spirit. The unique in-house composition and out-of-the-box approach to their theme made this performance particularly special.

 

 

Brazil – A Nostalgic Tropical Journey

 

Brazil stole our hearts with a cheerful, colorful performance inspired by the animated film Rio. Familiar songs like Hot Wings (I want to Party) made the audience sing along softly, while the distinct vocals and unique storyline entertained the audience in new ways. This sleep proved that nostalgia can be a powerful tool on stage, and that this year’s themes can be tackled in a variety of ways.

 

 

 

Without a doubt, there were several other sleep performances that were also noteworthy. Scotland impressed with actors who, through believable accents and genuine emotion, told a story of war and love on stage. India once again breathed new life into their repertoire with beautiful costumes and theme-specific dance moves that captivated the audience. Hawaii told a story of misunderstanding and love, fueled by charismatic characters and beautiful singing.

 

 

Egypt secured their place as one of the favorites of the evening with eye-catching costumes and brilliant use of music, among other things. Italy, despite a short-lived power outage, evoked nostalgia among many audience members with their creative references to the classic game Mario Kart.

 

 

France – or rather, the Tour de France – caused laughter and sometimes even blushing cheeks with their witty, suggestive humor. England surprised with a cheerful, multicultural medley that exuded energy and cohesion, while South Africa made the audience feel at home by bringing authentic South African icons such as Jack Parow, SuzelleDIY and Jonathan to the stage.

Altogether, Bingle Sêr 2025 not only celebrated culture but also showcased the incredible creativity, perseverance, and passion of each participant. By telling stories, sharing song and dance, and bringing a world full of variety to the stage, this year’s sêr provided proof that music and acting know no boundaries — only cross borders.
