Amongst all the classes, stress and studying that students encounter on campus, knowing where to find food, snacks and beverages is particularly important. The Potchefstroom campus offers a variety of options for students, including dining halls, cooked meals, and take-away options, as well as coffee bars and kiosks.

Klipoog Cafeteria
The most popular food source is located in the heart of the campus. Open Monday to Friday and located in the student centre (SS), the Klipoog Cafeteria offers a variety of snacks, drinks, fridge meals and “take-away” style meals. They also have a coffee bar. During lunch hours there are cooked meals available. The SS has many seating options and is generally quite busy during rush hours. The kiosk located outside the SS offers a variety of sweets and smaller snacks as well as some drink options.

Voorhuis Dining Hall
The Voorhuis Dining Hall is the most popular of the four dining halls on campus. To get to the Voorhuis, one walks through the duikweg at the law building. You then take an immediate right at which point you should see the sign pointing you towards the entrance of the dining hall. The Voorhuis is open every day of the week during mealtimes. They offer starches, vegetables, proteins, and salads. The Voorhuis also has a few beverage fridges.

Dampad Dining Hall
Located opposite Patria men’s residence, close to the engineering tunnel, Dampad Dining Hall is popular among students who live close to it. They offer a greater variety of meat and proteins, with less salad and veggie options. Dampad also has slightly fewer meal options than the Voorhuis, but does have a beverage fridge. They are open every day of the week during mealtimes.

Minjonet Dining Hall
Located at Minjonet ladies’ residence, Minjonet Dining Hall is open during mealtimes on weekdays only. In terms of popularity, Minjonet falls somewhere between the Voorhuis and Dampad. They have fewer food options than the Voorhuis, but have a greater variety of vegetable and salad options than Dampad. Minjonet also has dessert options and a beverage fridge.

De Wilgers Dining Hall
This is the least popular of the dining halls, mostly just visited by people who live at the residences close by. Located past the block A gate, at De Wilgers men’s residence, the dining hall is open every day of the week and has fewer meal options but bigger serving sizes. They also have a beverage fridge.

Die Draakenstein
The campus restaurant and bar is a popular location for social events on campus. Open Monday through Saturday, they offer a wide variety of meals and drinks. Situated behind the amphitheatre, they have a lot of seating options as well.

Engineering Mini-SS
Located at the base of the N1 building, the mini-SS has most of the same services as the SS on the main campus but with fewer options, and they do not offer cooked meals. Complete with good seating areas, the mini-SS offers “fast food” style meals, beverages, fridge meals and snacks. There is also a microwave and coffee bar available. They are open Monday through Friday but close in the afternoon.

Blank Canvas Café
Located at the NWU Conservatory, at the biokinetics buildings, this café overlooks the sports fields. They are open Monday to Saturday and have both indoor and outdoor seating with in-house and takeaway meal options. Blank Canvas Café has coffee, smoothies, milkshakes, alcoholic beverages, and a variety of food items.

Ampie Kiosk
This kiosk is located just outside the education building, and open Monday to Friday. There are “take-away” style meals available, along with a variety of snacks and drinks.
