Wapad het dié maand se koffie by Hooked geniet om hul gunsteling slagspreuk, “It only takes one cup”, reg te bewys. Hooked sit tussen Koöperasie en Baillie Park se Postnet, so ek noem hul koffie ʼn op-die-pad bederf.

Atmosfeer

Die stylvolle dekor het met die intrapslag bygedra tot ʼn gesellige atmosfeer. Die mosterdgeel en donkergroen muur komplimenteer die rye rankplante wat uit die dak uit hang. Die hoektafel met ʼn gemaklike bank, ʼn paar kussings en die nabye muurprop maak die opset gerieflik om by te werk of leer. ʼn Toonbanktafel binne by die venster is nog ʼn opsie om by te sit. Die buitenste tafels is wel ʼn beter keuse as jy opsoek is na meer spasie en vars lug.

Smaak

Vir iemand wat hou van sterk koffie was die koffie smaak in my Caramel Iced-Coffee (CIC) redelik flou. Die karamel geursel het wel nie ʼn nasmaak gehad nie, wat ʼn pluspunt was. Algeheel het die koffie ʼn bevredigende gevoel by my gelos, met ʼn kenmerkende smaak van room.

Prys

As die smaak van Hooked se koffie jou nie nooi vir nóg nie sal die prys definitief! Hooked se CIC het my net R35 uit die sak gejaag. Hooked is beslis ʼn goeie plek om jou einde-van-die-maand koffies in te werk.

Diens

Ek is vriendelik verwelkom en vinnig gehelp. Daar is meer as een persoon wat die koffie maak en die bestellings neem, wat ʼn groot verskil maak.

By Hooked drink jy lekker koffie in styl sonder dat jou bankbalans te veel skade lei. ʼn Op-die-pad koffie, dalk iets waaraan jy gewoond kan raak? Merke, gereed, Hooked!

 

Wapad enjoyed this month’s coffee at Hooked to prove their favourite saying, “It only takes one cup”. Hooked sits between Koöperasie and Bailie Park’s Postnet, so coffee at Hooked could be called an on-the-go indulgence.

Atmosphere

The stylish décor adds to a cozy atmosphere. The mustard yellow and dark green wall compliments the rows of vines hanging from the ceiling. The corner table with a comfortable sofa, a few cushions, and the nearby wall plug make the set-up convenient for working or studying. A counter table perched near the window is another seating option but the tables stationed outside are perhaps a better choice if you’re looking for more space and fresh air.

Taste

For someone who likes strong coffee, the coffee taste in my Caramel Iced Coffee (CIC) was a little bland. However, the caramel flavour did not have an aftertaste, which was a bonus. Altogether the coffee left me with a feeling of satisfaction and a prominent taste of cream.

Price

If the taste of Hooked’s coffee doesn’t win you over, the price certainly will! Hooked’s CIC only cost me R35. Hooked is definitely a good place to work in your end-of- the-month coffees.

Service

I was warmly welcomed and the service was quick. There is more than one person who makes the coffee and takes the orders, which really makes a difference.

At Hooked you can drink good coffee in style without breaking the bank. An on-the-go coffee, maybe that’s something you can get used to? Ready, set, Hooked!
