KOFFIEKROEG KENNIS: DC CAFE

Wapad se laaste koffiekroeg besoek vir die jaar, was by die nuutste koffiekroeg in die dorp, DC Cafe . Potchefstroom gons al ʼn rukkie oor dié nuweling wat by die Bourbons trappe op kop uit gesteek het. Wapad het die uitnodiging vir soetkoek opgevreet en gaan inloer.

 

Atmosfeer

Elegant, gemaklik en ruim. Met die intrapslag is my aandag eerste op die kontrasterende kleure van die groen plante wat uit die dak uit hang teenoor die donkerbruin tafels en swart stoele. By DC Cafe kan jy buite op die balkon in die vars lug sit. Of jy kan jouself binne op die banke gemaklik maak. Die tafels is ver uit mekaar uit, netjies gespasieer en meer as een groot venster laat ook baie lig in, wat die koffiekroeg lewe gee. DC Cafe se spyskaart het ʼn groot verskeidenheid versnaperings op waarvan melkkos as hul spesialiteit genoem is.

 

Smaak

My Large Caramel Iced Coffee het aangenaam gesmaak maar dit het ongelukkig nie my verwagtinge oortref nie. Die verhouding tussen die melk, die espresso en die karamel stroop was uit. Die melk het die hele koffie oorgeneem met min tot geen smaak van die res nie.

 

Prys

My koffie het my R60 uit die sak gejaag. Dit is die duurste koffie wat ek op die koffiereis nóg gedrink het. Daarom is die koffie nie ʼn goeie idee vir ʼn einde van die maand koffie nie.

 

Diens

DC Cafe se diens was vinnig en baie vriendelik. Ek is hartlik ontvang en niks was vir die kelnerin te veel moeite nie, sy het die ekstra myl geloop om seker te maak my ervaring is spesiaal.

 

DC Cafe, elegant genoeg vir ʼn foto sessie, ruim genoeg vir ʼn groot koffie-kuier maar aan die duurder kant vir ʼn begin van die maand koffie.

Wapad’s last koffiekroeg visit for the year was at the newest cafe in town, DC Cafe. Potchefstroom has been buzzing for a while about this newcomer that popped up at the Bourbons stairs, so Wapad decided to stop by.

 

Atmosphere

Elegant, comfortable and spacious. Upon stepping in, my attention is grabbed by the contrasting colours of the green plants hanging from the roof as opposed to the dark brown tables and black chairs. At DC Cafe, you can sit outside on the balcony in the fresh air. Or you can make yourself comfortable inside on the couches. The tables are far apart, neatly spaced and more than one large window also lets in a lot of light, bringing the cafe to life. DC Cafe’s menu has a large selection of snacks on which melkkos has been named as their specialty.

 

Taste

My Large Caramel Iced Coffee tasted nice, but unfortunately it didn’t exceed my expectations. The ratio of the milk, the espresso and the caramel syrup was unbalanced. The milk took over the entire coffee with little to no taste of the rest of the flavours.

 

Price

My coffee cost R60. It’s the most expensive coffee I’ve ever had on my coffee journey. Therefore, the coffee is not a good idea for an end-of-the-month coffee.

 

Service

DC Cafe’s service was fast and very friendly. I was warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for the waitress, she went the extra mile to make sure my experience was special.

 

DC Cafe, elegant enough for a photo session, spacious enough for a big get-together but on the pricier side for a start-to-the-month coffee.
