On Tuesday, October 21, the newly elected Community Stakeholder Engagement (CSE) Portfolio Committee (PC) of 2025/26 started off their term in a particularly positive way. The CSE office welcomed 36 learners to the North-West University (NWU) campus for a day filled with learning and inspiration.
In collaboration with Promosa Primary School, the CSE office proudly hosted 36 enthusiastic young learners on the NWU campus, offering them an enriching and memorable experience designed not only to inspire curiosity and confidence, but also to strengthen their sense of connection to higher education, and community engagement. The event aimed to spark a lasting interest in learning and exploration while creating joyful memories as the students prepared to enter the festive holiday season.
Starting at the NWU Science Centre, the learners engaged in hands-on scientific activities and interactive learning experiences. After their science fun, they took a mini campus tour to get an inside view of campus life and then enjoyed a peaceful picnic at the NWU Botanical Garden, creating a relaxing and cheerful atmosphere.
To boost their energy, the students were taken to our beloved Wasgoedpennetjie Laan, where they met Eagi and spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying games and a jumping castle.
This event was a celebration of community, education, and compassion. It serves as a reminder that engagement goes beyond outreach and that our newly elected CSE Officer, Michael Wade, and his committee will focus on building moments that matter. This event is only the start of what’s to come from our 2025/26 CSE PC office. We are very excited to see what they will bring and how they will continue to engage with the community.
